Click on pictures for viewing During the depression, as a teenager, Anthony Palumbo was excited when he was accepted by the W.P.A. art school for training, which meant apprenticing with some of the greatest muralists of that period. Inspired by muralists and painters like Diega Rivera, Rufino Tamayo and later Hans Hoffman and Rico LeBrun, Palumbo himself went on to become one of the foremost muralists and painters of our time. Both his murals and his paintings are consumed with dynamic images, rich in substance. His painterly technique in expressive, psychological realism and power draws the viewer into his world of powerful, personal images of haunting storytelling. He has exhibited at The Whitney Museum of American Art; The Huntington Hartford Gallery of Modern Art , New York City; Montclair Museum of Art and the New Jersey City Museum, New Jersey, as well as in New York galleries and is represented in many private collections.
